Hey guys! Today I’m going to be sharing what I read in September 2018. I apologize for the unexpected hiatus, but this week was extremely busy for me and I’ll get more into it at the end of the blog post, but for right now, let’s see what I read this month!

1. Crown Of Midnight by Sarah J Maas (4/5 stars)

This was so much better than book one for me. It had so much more action and the character relationships were explored a lot more. Overall, I enjoyed this.

2. Heir of Fire by Sarah J Maas (3/5 stars)

Sigh. What a step down from book two. The only thing I liked about this book was Calaena and Rowan’s relationship. Dorian’s relationship lacked chemistry, the witches were boring to read about, and there was pretty much no world-building. I’m really hoping the rest of the series kicks it into high gear, because I love SJM and I don’t want this series to let me down.

3. The Darkest Legacy by Alexandra Bracken (5/5 stars)

This was one of my most anticipated releases of the year, and Alexandra Bracken did not disappoint! I loved reading about Zu, and a story where Ruby made minimal appearances was refreshing. Not that I don’t like Ruby. She’s one of my most favorite YA heroines of all time. But Zu is so different compared to her, and I think I liked this better than the original trilogy (which is saying a lot!)

4. The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding (3/5 stars)

This was a fun, spooky read! It was a perfect read for fall and Halloween, and if you like middle grade then I’d recommend this to you for sure!

5-8. Shatter Me (the entire series) by Tahereh Mafi (overall series rating: 4/5 stars)

This was one of the oldest series on my TBR, and the evolution of Tahereh Mafi’s writing is clearly visible. You can tell the age with the first book, but it just keeps on getting better and better, and Restore Me was amazing, ending with a bang! I’m so happy that the series is getting more books, and I can’t wait for Kenji’s novella! Also can’t wait for An Very Large Expanse of Sea!

I have an entire post getting more into my thoughts so if you’re interested in that here’s the link: Shatter Me Series Book Review(s)

9. Writing Fantastic Fiction by Jennifer Joline Anderson (3/5 stars)

This was just a writing craft book I picked up on a whim, and it was pretty basic. If you’re a writer who’s just a beginner, you could give this a go.

10. Two Dark Reigns by Kendare Blake (4/5 stars)

Despite giving this four stars, my reading experience was not the greatest. The beginning was a bit boring a dragged on but the end redeemed it all. I really hope the final book is a banger.

11. After The Fire by Will Hill (4/5 stars)

Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I have a review on my blog about this book, so here’s the link if you want to check it out: After The Fire Book Review

12. Save The Date by Morgan Matson (4.5/5 stars)

I really liked this book! Morgan Matson has become one of my favorite authors of all time, and I have some super exciting news related to her that is down below.

Blog Let's Chat Banner

I am a junior in high school, so this week I took the PSAT along with millions of other students. I get my results sometime in December so hopefully, they are good.

I also participate in a business club at my school, so I had the opportunity to attend a business conference with other teen women and women business owners. I participated in it last year as well, and it was an amazing learning experience.

Something else that’s really cool as well is that I got an NHS (National Honor Society) letter! I’m not in just yet, though. I have to attend a mandatory meeting and fill out a form and write an essay, but hopefully, I get in because that would be amazing!

Last weekend I met one of my favorite authors, Morgan Matson! I was able to get my books signed by her, and I can’t wait till I meet her next! (by the way that’s what I look like, if you were wondering)

And that’s pretty much it! I’m just trying to balance school and blogging right now, but hopefully, I can throw in writing as well and participate in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) in November.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog post! Please leave a comment so I can show my appreciation. Hope you have/had a good day!
