RATING: 4/5 STARS
This is the third book in the Three Dark Crown series, and I’m not sure how I feel about it. The book was boring yet interesting at the same time. The beginning dragged a little, and I found that it could have been shortened, but the ending was amazing!
This book is primarily about Jules. I can’t say anything more without spoiling, but what you should know is that we barely follow the other girls, and their storylines are pretty weak.
Mirabella and Arsinoe are on the mainland, and Mirabella steps into her role of big sister, and along with Billy, their mission is to protect Arsinoe.
Katherine and Pietyr are my least favorite characters. Their relationship is extremely cringy, and every time they’re together I question what the heck Katherine is thinking. He pushed her into that horrid abyss, and claims to love her! Surprisingly, I miss Natalia. Genevieve has lost her meanness and blindly follows whatever Katherine says. Overall, the Aaron family has probably changed the most, and they are my least favorite family.
Like I said before, this book mainly follows Jules, and we’re introduced to a new character, Emilia. We find out that Jules is legion cursed, meaning she has two gifts, and Emilia kind of forces her to become a public figure, the Legion Queen. Emelia seems like a power-hungry character, and that’s all she cares about.
Overall, this series is filled with unlikeable characters, but it’s filled with action. The plot is super engrossing, and I’m really hoping for a show-stopping finale! This is my least favorite book in the series, but I still love the series as a whole, and I don’t know how I’m going to survive waiting a year for the last book.
