Hey guys! Today I’m going to share my thoughts on the highly anticipated book-to-movie adaptation by Jenny Han. I had high expectations, and I can confidently say that those expectations were met and exceeded!

There have been some amazing book-to-movie adaptations this year, and I’m going to be talking about two more in blog posts over the course of this week. I can’t wait for you guys to read them! Anyway, enough babbling. Let’s me share my thoughts on this wonderful movie.

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before stars Lana Condor as Lara-Jean, Noah Centino as Peter Kavinsky,  Israel Brossard as Josh,  Janel Parrish as Margo, and Anna Cathcart as Kitty. It is rated TV-14. It is based on the bestselling novel by Jenny Han.

Note: I haven’t read the book, so I’m only going to be talking about the movie.

Rating: 4/5 stars.

As an Asian myself, I have been waiting to see this movie ever since it was announced. I went in not really knowing anything, and I don’t think it would have made a difference even if I did.

I didn’t realize there would be a love triangle in this movie. I don’t mind love triangles, but here it felt unnecessary. It might be different in the book, but here it didn’t do much for the plot. Josh didn’t get much screen time in the first place, so it didn’t even feel like he was a competitor.

One thing I did like was how Peter fell for Lara first. I feel like in every contemporary romance I read the girl falls first and the book is about how she does everything to get him to feel the same way. So, I appreciated seeing the reversal of that.

I also loved the sets, especially Lara’s room. I really liked the color palette of it.

Overall, I really enjoyed watching this movie! I don’t plan on continuing the series unless they make those movies as well (for various reasons.)

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog post! Please leave a comment so I can show my appreciation! Hope you have/had a good day!
