Rating: 4/5 stars

The book jumps from before Monday disappears, during Monday’s disappearance, and after the mystery is solved. I got used to it pretty quickly, but it was hard to keep track of everything at first.

In the beginning, and throughout the whole story, Claudia’s parents don’t listen to her when she says Monday is missing—that frustrates me so much, yet I also understand it.

Claudia goes through life without Monday for almost the whole story, and we see the life Monday had that Claudia didn’t know about. Monday kept a lot of secrets from Claudia, and all those secrets are slowly revealed.

“I had to find April. Because I trusted her, more than anyone, to keep it real with me.” – Claudia.

April, Monday’s older sister, is probably my favorite character. She keeps things real with Claudia, somehow managing to keep sane and take care of another sibling (you’ll understand why when you read the story.) She goes through so much and still comes out, for lack of a better word, alive.

I feel like Micheal was added in as an afterthought. His character wasn’t very well-developed, falling under the popular boy cliché. It was nice to see someone support Claudia, but other than that I feel that his character was useless.

After the plot twist is revealed, the jumping makes things a little confusing. It was unexpected, and I really liked it, but the stories started to get jumbled up.

After the mystery is solved, and the whole thing is on the news, and the police and government are taking precautions to prevent this from happening, a thought occurred to me. If this happened in our world, which I’m sure it does, I’m not sure the police or government would take precautions/try to prevent this from happening again. Messed up, right?

Overall, I really enjoyed the story. I would recommend this to anyone. I had a few issues, but I got past those pretty easily.

Sidenote: This was so difficult to write without spoiling anything. Please read the book, or if you already have, and tell me if this makes any sense.
