Hey guys! Welcome to a new series on my blog called ‘first episode thoughts,’ where I’ll be talking about my thoughts on the first episode of a tv show. I’m not sure about the name yet so I might change it anytime. I’m really excited, and I hope you guys are too! Let’s dive right in.

Jane The Virgin stars Gina Rodriguez as Jane and Justin Baldoni as Rafael. It is rated TV-14.

Rating: 4.5/5 stars.

In the first episode of Jane The Virgin, we follow our main character, Jane Gloriana Villanueva, a woman who has sworn to be a virgin until marriage because her mother had Jane when she was a teen. But, her plans are derailed as she finds out that she’s pregnant. Her doctor, Dr. Alvarez, accidentally injects the sperm of her brother, Jane’s boss (Rafael Solano), which was meant for the patient next door. The episode then follows Jane as she tells her family and boyfriend that she’s pregnant, even though she didn’t break her vow.

I really liked this. I especially liked the format, where we had a narrator. There’s a lot of relationships to be explored, which I’m really excited about. There’s a certain character, Petra, who I assumed would be like a normal dumb blondie (no offense to blond haired girls), but she surprised me. I think she wants Rafael just for the money, but I could be wrong.

Overall, this was a lot of fun! It got two Teen Choice awards this past weekend which is also really cool. I’m excited to see where this series will go. I’ll probably do a review for every season.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog post! Please leave a comment so I can show my appreciation! Hope you have/had a good day!

Comment down below a TV show that you love that’s on Netflix and I’ll try to review it soon!
